Upload a Video to Stream

This guide shows you how to download a Zoom recording and then upload it to Microsoft Stream and get a link you can paste in a Canvas course (or send via email, etc.)

Note that videos posted to Microsoft Stream are only viewable by the CC community (they have to log in with their CC username and password to view it)
Unlike Zoom, videos posted to Microsoft Stream do not automatically delete after a certain period of time
Once you upload your video to Microsoft Stream, you can trim it to remove dead space at the beginning and/or end
You can

Navigate to https://zoom.us/signin and don't enter your email and password. Instead, click the "SSO" button toward the bottom

Enter "coloradocollege" for the Company Domain and select Continue, then Sign in with your CC username and password as normal

Once signed in, select "Recordings" on the left, then "Cloud Recordings" at the top. Find the video you want to download and click "More" then "Download." You may see a warning about downloading multiple files, go ahead and allow that

In your downloads folder, you'll see 3 files. The video file will be the largest and will be an MP4 file - this is the one you will be uploading. The other two files are an M4A (audio only) and VTT (text transcript only)

Now that you have the file downloaded, use the "Email (Office365)" button on the CC Single Sign in page to log into your email on the web and click the "waffle" icon in the upper left, then choose "Stream"

At the top of the screen, click on "Create" and then "Upload Video"

Drag and drop the video file from your downloads, or click the "browse" link and select the video from there (remember, it's the "MP4" file)

Give the video a name and, if you'd like, a description. You can also change permissions and other options here before uploading, but the defaults are fine. Note that it may take some time to process the video, especially if it's long (you'll receive an email when it's finished and ready to publish). Once it's done processing, go ahead and click "Publish"

After it finished publishing, click "Share"

You'll see a direct link to the video. Click the "copy" button to copy the link, and you can then paste it into Canvas, send it in an email, or whatever you'd like.
