Carolyn holds a BS in Zoology from Cal Poly Humboldt (2009) and worked as a student researcher with the California Department of Fish and Wildlife studying the effects of different eradication methods on Zostera japonica, an invasive eelgrass species in Humboldt Bay. She then worked at Trudeau Institute in Saranac Lake, NY managing infectious disease research and viral stock propagation and characterization, followed by a role as a Research Associate at UC Berkeley focusing on preclinical drug trials for Dengue Fever and Influenza. Carolyn also led the Avian Virology Diagnostic Lab at UC Davis and coordinated clinical cancer research in the urology and gynecology departments at Emory University. She earned a Master of Public Health degree in 2016 from Grand Canyon University, focusing her research on zoonotic disease transmission and prevention. After 8+ years in research, Carolyn shifted to managing regulatory and compliance programs for utilities in California and Colorado. In 2025, she joined 华体会 as the Neuroscience Lab Coordinator, supporting research and mentoring students in experimental protocols and data collection.
